Tempe Microschool Program Details
-
Fully Accredited & Online Curriculum: All iCubed students enroll in a fully accredited, self-paced, and online curriculum of their choice, ensuring student coursework leads to an Arizona high school diploma upon completing program requirements.
-
Choose Your Own Curriculum: If one of our preferred curriculum providers is not the right fit, we are happy to work with your existing curriculum provider.
-
Hybrid Schedule and Format: Our 100% online, asynchronous curriculum allows students to work anytime from anywhere with an internet connection. Based on their individual needs, iCubed students receive 1-on-1 support for between 1-3 days per week from our certified educators.
-
Accelerated Graduation/Credit Recovery: Need to graduate early or catch up on credits? Our self-paced curriculum combined with in-person support ensures students receive the personalized attention they need to reach their graduation goals.
-
Early College Option: iCubed students that are utilizing Arizona's ESA program for funding are advised to take general education courses within the Maricopa County Community College District to tackle general education requirements for college, helping students prepare for college-level coursework and eliminating core curriculum requirements in a cost-effective manner.
-
Early High School Option*: iCubed students in grades 7 or 8 can join our high school microschool program and begin making progress toward a high school diploma.

*NOTE: To be successful in our program, all 7th & 8th Grade students must be prepared for high school coursework, beginning with Algebra I for Math and 9th Grade English. We do not enroll students in any courses below the 9th grade level.
How Our Model Works
Our students work with us on an hourly basis, choosing between flexible scheduling options. Families can bring their own curriculum or select from one of our recommended providers (please note that tuition and hourly tutoring do not include curriculum costs):
-
ASU Prep Digital
-
SchoolsPLP
-
American Academy by Graduation Alliance
To participate, students are required to have a personal laptop or device (not included).

Upon enrollment, each student receives a customized Individual Learning Plan (ILP) tailored to their academic needs, goals, and progress. To monitor growth and achievement, we administer the NWEA MAP assessment three times per year. This benchmark assessment provides measurable insights into student progress, helping us adjust instruction as needed to ensure continued success.

Parents receive weekly progress reports via email to stay informed on their child's performance. Additionally, families are required to participate in three parent-teacher conferences per year to review progress, discuss academic strategies, and set goals for continued achievement.

Why 1:1?
Our 1:1 instructional model is designed to meet the unique needs of middle and high school students engaged in homeschooling or online education. Many of our students do not need full-time in-person instruction but benefit from targeted support in specific subjects. Our model provides:
-
Custom instruction tailored to each student's academic strengths and challenges.
-
Support for college-bound students, ensuring they meet university admission requirements for the state(s) they intend to apply within.
-
Flexible scheduling, allowing students to receive help in just the subjects where they need extra guidance.
-
Comprehensive academic guidance and planning, making sure students are on track with graduation and post-secondary goals.
We encourage our ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account) students to maximize their funding by enrolling in select, general education community college courses to supplement their high school coursework.
